One Vice At A Time - Krokus

Label: Arista Records

According the wiki, for you gamers out there, the song Long Stick Goes Boom is featured on Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. Also includes a cover of the Guess Who's American Woman. Pictured is a stock photo from the intertoobs, the copy we have just has modest natural wear and plays just fine.

Best Years - Rory Gallagher

Label: Polydor Records

Pretty sure Rory Gallagher is the guitar player named by Jimi Hendrix when quoted on who is the greatest guitar player in the world and Jimi replies, "I don't know, you'll have to ask Rory Gallagher." The quote has been butchered to where he may have mentioned Chicago's Terry Kath (a worthy choice) or attributed to Prince via Eric Clapton, but origins of the original quote appear to point Hendrix to Gallagher. In any event, get this nice preplayed copy of Rory Gallagher, a guitar slinger's guitar slinger. Jacket has some natural wear, the record looks great and it's on Polydor Records 2383-414.

Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.

Lord of the Ages - Magna Carta

Label: London Records

We finally have access to the Magna Carta, the folk rock band at least. Magna Carta is Chris Simpson, Glen Stewart, and Stan Gordon. Originally released in 1967, this LP has got to be close to that era. It has some natural wear, but plays with just a minimal amount of crackle and surface noise.
Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge (usually $4.98 for single LPs) will be added. We ship next day.
Pick-Up Option: If you'd like to pick up this record (and possibly others) at the shop, we can arrange a "non-shipping" payment, plus sales tax. Send an email or DM via the socials and we can set-up payment and appointment.

In the Heat of the Night - Pat Benatar

Label: Chrysalis Records

Gently used copy of the Pat Banatar record "In the Heat of the Night". Includes the hit Heartbreaker. This is a stock photo but the copy we have available is priced right, has just a little natural wear, and plays great. Released in 1979 and also includes We Live For Love, No You Don't, I Need A Lover, and others.
Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge (usually $4.98 for single LPs) will be added. We ship next day.

In Concert - Derek & the Dominos

Label: RSO Records

Live set of the few live shows that exist of Derek & the Dominos. Includes the Clapton contributions, of course, but Bobby Whitlock has a strong presence on these recordings as well. Includes Let It Rain, Why Does Love Got to Be So Sad, Tell the Truth, Have You Ever Loved A Woman, and others. Pictured is the record we have available. As you can see, it has a little ring wear but the records play great. This is a two record set that was recorded at the Fillmore East.
Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge (usually $4.98 for single LPs, $5.98 for double LPs like this one) will be added. We ship next day.

Pictures at Eleven - Robert Plant

Label: Swansong

Looking back on this, it's a very good solo release from Robert Plant. It's his first work after Led Zeppelin broke up. At the time of release, obvious comparisons to his Zep work were made and with a bar that high, there's no way to compare. However, playing this record recently, it holds up very well. To these ears it's almost a continuation of "In Through the Out Door" but with different musicians. Robbie Blunt, while no Page, is no slouch on the guitar either. Also includes Paul Martinez on bass and Cozy Powell and Phil Collins on drums! Released on the SwanSong label, so it will have that familiar Zep look spinning on your turntable.

BeBe LeStrange - Heart

Label: Epic Records

Great 1980 release by the Seattle band, Heart. Includes Even It Up, Pilot, Bebe LeStrange, and others. Ann and Nancy Wilson rocked so hard and kicked so much ass that they must have missed the memo that rock was a man's world. They weren't havin' any of that crap. Good on them! Rock on ladies! Local Elgin Fun Fact: Around 2016 Heart played Fesitval Park right here in Elgin.

Crimes of Passion - Pat Benatar

Label: Chrysalis Records

Multiple hit singles on this breakthrough Pat Benatar release, which include Treat Me Right, You Better Run, Hell Is For Children, and Hit Me With Your Best Shot. Heck, that is almost all of Side One! A Preowned copy in our inventory, it plays well and will look great in your collection.
Send an email or DM via the socials and we can set-up payment and appointment

Flash - Jeff Beck

Label: Epic Records

Hard to believe by 1985 Jeff Beck had only released 4 solo studio albums, but if Wiki says it, it must be true. "Flash" was a release that brought in a Grammy in 1986 "Best Instrumental Rock Release" for the song Escape. It also was the record where Rod Stewart took a break from being "Horrible 1980's Rod" and became "Cool Rod" for the Curtis Mayfield song People Get Ready
Send an email or DM via the socials and we can make an appointment.

It Ain't Easy - Long John Baldry

It Ain't Easy - Long John Baldry
Label: Warner Brothers

Original release from the great pianist Long John Baldry. Don't try to lay no boogie woogie on him either! A bluesy feel but at the same time, this was produced by Rod Stewart and Elton John! Includes Flying (Faces cover), Black Girl (Leadbelly cover), and of course, Don't You Lay No Boogie Woogie on the King of Rock N Roll. Also includes covers of Willie Dixon and Randy Newman tunes. Released in 1971. A preplayed record, it has just modest surface noise and looks great. This is a stock photo of the record.

Never A Dull Moment - Rod Stewart

Outstanding, if not underrated release from Rod Stewart. This was his second release after leaving The Faces and this record really has that Faces sound. At different points in the record, all of the Faces play on this, so yeah, Ronnie Wood and Ronnie Lane. In fact, listen to the unmistakable keyboards by Ian McLagan on True Blue, the lead off track. Also includes You Wear It Well, Mama You've Been On My Mind, I'd Rather Go Blind, Angel (the Hendrix cover).

Hot August Night - Neil Diamond

Label: MCA Records

Iconic two record set from Neil Diamond. Recorded at the Greek Theater, it's Diamond at the top of his live performance game. Includes Cherry Cherry, Red Red Wine, Sweet Caroline, Girl You'll Be A Woman Soon, Solitary Man, and others. It's one of the selections in the book "1000 Recordings to Hear Before You Die". This copy has a little natural wear and plays fine. This album seems to have been well-loved by everyone who owned it, so with that in mind, we rarely come across VG or MINT copies. Nice price for a two LP set. Okay, fine, you saw it in a dollar bin somewhere.... but still.

Byrdmaniax - The Byrds

Label: Columbia Records

The tenth studio album by the Byrds. It was released in 1971 and the line-up by this time includes guitarist Clarence White. Features the single Glory Glory and was produced by Terry Melcher. Also includes Pale Blue, I Wanna Grow Up to be a Politician and the Jackson Brown-penned song, Jamaica Say You Will. This is a stock photo of the record. The one that is available plays great and the jacket has a modest amount of natural wear.

Songwriter - Various Artists

Label: Twin Tone

Two photos, the intro cover from the site is the front cover. The photo after you click on the record is the back photo to give you a look at the artists. These are pics of the record we have available. The tape you see is to keep the 2 mil sleeve sealed. It's not on the record jacket. Minneapolis' Twin Tone Records put this release out in 1980 and includes all sort of artists from that time. It was compiled from over 700 entries in a Songwriters contest. Includes songs by Phil and the Blanks, The Liars, Bob Erkstrand, Bret Gardner, Fingerprints, Twin City Terrors, and others. Twin Tone went on to release records by the likes of Minneapolis bands like Soul Asylum, Husker Du and The Replacements. Those bands, or members of those bands, are not on this comp. Many of the songs were recorded at Blackberry Way studio.

Demons & Wizards - Uriah Heep

Label: Mercury Records

Is this rock? Is it prog rock? Metal? We're not sure, we'll just call it freaking awesome! The fourth record by these Brit rockers and it has gone on to sell over 6 million copies! Includes The Wizard, Circle of Hands, Easy Livin', and others. Cover art by the great Roger Dean. You may know his work from Yes record jackets. As a preplayed selection, this has some minor natural wear but plays fine with but a little surface noise. Remember, this record may date back to 1972, so possibly nearly 50 years old.

Uglysuit - Uglysuit

Label: Quarterstick Records

Cool indie pop record from 2008 by the Uglysuit on Quarterstick Records out of Chicago. Includes Brownblue's Passing, Chicago, Let It Be Known, Elliot Travels, and others. All songs written by the Uglysuit and it was engineered and produced by Manny Sanchez.

The Firm - The Firm

Label: Atlantic Records

Not to be confused with a 90's movie featuring Tom Cruise, this was a 1985 release with Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and Paul Rodgers of Bad Company and Free! A legendary guitarist and a legendary vocalist combine forces! The big hit single was Radioactive. They toured hockey venues and released one more record after that, but that was it. With all that history behind them, they were both somewhat lackluster releases. But hey, the price is right, pick this up somewhere (even if it's not at Rediscover) and see for yourself.

The Cowsills - The Cowsills

The Cowsills - The Cowsills
Label: MGM Records

Quite possibly one of the more underrated bands of the era. They were only the band that inspired the television show "The Partridge Family". This is the original MGM release which includes "The Rain, The Park, and Other Things" and also "Gettin into that Sunny Feelin' Again". The jacket and the record are in VG/VG shape. Find your records and record needs at Rediscover Records.

History Mix Volume 1 - Godley & Creme

Label: Polyvinyl Records

The 1986 release from Godley & Creme, formerly of the band 10cc. Includes the hit single Cry, which had a huge, if not bizarre, hit video that aired on MTV *insert "back when MTV played videos comment" says the Gen-Xer*. Also includes Wet Rubber Soup, Light Me Up, Save A Mountain For Me, and others. A very nice preplayed record from Polydor Records 825981-1 and includes the original inner sleeve. Played superbly upon a test play at the shop. Thanks!!

I'm the Man - Joe Jackson

Label: A and M Records

The 1979 release from the great Joe Jackson, "I'm the Man". He was from the rad era of New Wave and Punk artists of the late 70's and he may not quite get the same recognition as some of his peers. I don't think he really minds though. Included on this is the title track, as well as, On Your Radio, Get That Girl, Friday, Amateur Hour, and the brilliant deep cut, It's Different For Girls. Jackson is one of those guys who can rock hard and then sing the sweetest of ballads. McCartney-esque, if you will. Pictured is the record that we have in stock. It has a small amount of crackle and a very slight warp. It played nicely upon a test spin.

Nightmares - J. Geils Band

Label: Atlantic Records

Excellent looking pre-played copy of J. Geils Band "Nightmares". Includes the hit Must Have Got Lost, as well as cuts like, Gettin Out, Detroit Breakdown, Givin' It All Up, and others. Record and sleeve are in great ship, photo is of the album available, and if you can read the $3.99 original price tag, it isn't much more than that now at $6.98 plus S&H.

Full House - J. Geils Band

Label: Atlantic Records

Arguably one of the greatest live albums of all time and it's only a single disc! Live records in the 1970's were often sprawling two, or even three, disc sets. This one is one record, to the point, and it rocks! Originally released in 1972 this record includes First I Look at the Purse, Looking For A Love, Whammer Jammer, and five other live classics. This is a preowned record but in decent shape with just enough natural wear to give it that cool look. The record sounds great!!

Running On Empty - Jackson Browne

Label: Asylum Records

Another classic release by Jackson Browne available on our site for a modest price. We have plenty of others, as a rule, in the shop as well. "Running On Empty" was literally recorded on the road, from Merriweather Post Pavilion to hotel rooms. Contains the title track, as well as, Shaky Town, The Load-Out, Rosie, Cocaine, Stay (a great cover!), and others. This particular record has just some natural wear and plays very well. Any questions, please ask. Thanks!

The Pretender - Jackson Browne

Label: Asylum Records

Classic Jackson Browne at the peak of his powers when The Pretender was released. Includes the title track as well as, The Fuse, Linda Paloma, Daddy's Tune, and others. Produced by Jon Landau and released in 1976. The LP itself just has some natural wear and plays fine. Any questions, please ask. Nicely priced, and modest shipping charge ($4.98 for Media Mail) will be added as you check out via our Buy Now buttons.

Voices Carry - Til Tuesday

Voices Carry - Til Tuesday
Label: Epic Records

While it may be an exaggeration to say that Til Tuesday "burst on the scene" in 1985, it is safe to say they made an impact with this record. The title song, "Voices Carry" made the charts and they were able to get a opening slot on a few Tom Petty shows for his "Pack Up the Plantation" tour. Til Tuesday opened for TP at Poplar Creek in suburban Hoffman Estates, were you there? Quite a splash for Aimee Mann as well who went on to several acclaimed solo records after Til Tuesday. This record has the original inner sleeve, plays great, and would make a nice addition to your collection. We ship in sturdy records only boxes and take care of all the shipping details.

Whipped Cream & Other Delights - Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass

Whipped Cream & Other Delights - Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass
Label: A&M

The one, the only, the iconic, the Whipped Cream cover by Herb Alpert and his Tijuana Brass. This record has inspired countless spoofs and it's music has been used in numerous game shows. It's as famous as they come. Get it, play it, or even frame it. Ships in a sturdy records only box. Supply your own whip cream!

Pretenders II - The Pretenders

Pretenders II - The Pretenders
Label: Sire

No sophomore slump here with the second Pretenders record. Includes Message of Love, The Adultress, Boys Get Spanked, and other hot tunes. Sadly, this would be the last record with the original line-up as drug use would take the lives of James Honeymoon-Scott and Pete Farndon. The original release date was August 15th, 1981. This is a nice preowned copy and the photo is a stock photo from the internets. This copy looks just as nice and plays well without much surface noise.

Love Is A Sacrifice - Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes

Love Is A Sacrifice - Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes
Label: Mercury

Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes 1980 release. Billy Rush had become Southside's main foil and songwriter during this period. Get a little of that Jersey Shore sound with the Asbury Jukes. This record is in very good condtion, minimal wear, and plays fine. Ships with a poly sleeve and in a sturdy records only box.

Sucking in the Seventies - The Rolling Stones

Sucking in the Seventies - The Rolling Stones
Label: Rolling Stone

A two record set released in 1981. This record is veiwed as a successor to the Stones "Made In the Shade" record as a compilation album. It primarily covers the period from 1975 to 1980. It includes some rarer material, such as, "Everything Is Turning to Gold", "Fool to Cry", "Mannish Boy", "Shattered", "Beast of Burden" and a live "When the Whip Comes Down". The cover is as pictured, this record is in very good condition and culled from a meticulous collection. The best time to order is now.

More Songs About Love & Hate - The Godfathers

More Songs About Love & Hate - The Godfathers
Label: Epic

The Godfathers were popular with college radio ("college radio" was just another term for "alternative music" before it became a marketing tool for music, or as some would say, "Oh, you listen to that 'weird' music) in the late 80's and early 90's. This was the follow-up to "Birth School Work Death" and released in 1989. It may be worth it just for "Walking Talking Johnny Cash Blues". This is the US release and the cover is as shown. On a sidenote, the UK cover has a photo of Liz Taylor and Richard Burton.

Every Picture Tells A Story - Rod Stewart

Every Picture Tells A Story - Rod Stewart
Label: Mercury Records

By now Rod Stewart has had a 30+ year solo career, but this was his solo debut after leaving The Faces. Includes Maggie Mae, Every Picture Tells A Story, That's All Right Mama, Mandolin Wind, Tomorrow Is Such A Long Time, and the Tim Hardin cover of Reason to Believe. One time in the late 1980's or early 90's there was a commercial where Rod morphed from a jukebox into a full-size Rod as he was singing the line "Oh my dear, I gotta get outta here..." One of the better debuts of all time and there seems to be two Rod Stewart fan bases... the Faces and early solo Rod, which we will call the Cool Rod, then there was the post-D'ya Think I'm Sexy Rod, which we will call the not-as-cool-Rod. Whichever, neither fan base is wrong, right? We have plenty of other Rod Stewart records in the shop.

Retrospective: The Best of - Buffalo Springfield

Label: ATCO Records

A well-kept gently used copy of 60's giants, Buffalo Springfield, a band which would launch the careers of Stephen Sills, Jim Messina, and Neil Young. Includes the hit For What It's Worth, not to mention classics like Mr. Soul, I Am A Child, Broken Arrow, Go and Say Goodbye, Sit Down, I Think I Love You, and others. Brief liner notes by ATCO big wig himself, Ahmet Ertegun.

This is one of thousands of preloved records in the shop. The records on our site are but just an representation of what we have. We will continue to populate the site with preplayed and new releases/reissues. In the meantime, stop by the shop to check out the rest or if you have a question on inventory, just contact us!

Heart Like A Wheel - Linda Ronstadt

Label: Capital Records

Truly one of the greats of all time, Linda Ronstadt. This 1974 release is one of her finest and she is one of the few people in all the world who could make a cover version of a song better than the original. Included on this release are great covers of You're  No Good, When Will I Be Loved, Little Feat's Willin', and the Anna McGarrigle-penned track Heart Like A Wheel. An A-list of musicians join her on this release, with the likes of these artists; Clydie King, Andrew Gold, JD Souther, David Lindley, Russ Kunkel, Jimmy Fadden, Don Henley, Peter Asher, and others. Peter Asher produced this record, he of Peter and Gordon fame, who was also the brother of Jane Asher - who once had a boyfriend in the 1960's named Paul McCartney.

Somewhere Over China - Jimmy Buffett

Label: MCA Records

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band returned to the beach or the Margaritaville for this 1981 release, "Somewhere Over China". This release parrots some of his earlier work and includes Where's the Party, Lip Service, I Heard I Was In Town, Somewhere Over China, and Steamer, which this record is not, though YMMVYankee third baseman great Graig Nettles gets a thank you nod in the back jacket liner notes, which is pretty cool. Jimmy is in the sports nerd and music nerd venn diagram, he sang the anthem before one of the 1984 NLCS games at Wrigley Field between the Cubs and Padres. He made mention of singer/songwriter and Cubs fan, Steve Goodman (composer of Go Cubs Go, City of New Orleans, Dying Cubs Fan Last Request, Lincoln Park Pirates, and was an embarrassment of riches as a songwriter), who had passed, sadly, in September of 1984.

The Crossing - Big Country

Label: PolyGram Records

A big hit in 1983 with the single In A Big Country. They were nearly the biggest thing out of Scotland this side of the Loch Ness or the Loch Ness Monster even! Also includes The Storm, Harvest Home, Lost Patrol, 1000 Stars. Produced by Steve Lillywhite, who did all kinds of producing for dozens of bands back then. We don't know what kind of knobs he's turning these days though...

This is one of thousands of preloved records in the shop. The records on our site are but just an representation of what we have. A big hit record for Seger and the Silver Bullet Band from 1980 with bar bustin' tunes like "Horizontal Bop", "You'll Accomp'ny Me", "Against The Wind", "Her Strut", "Betty Lou's Gettin' Out Tonight" and "Fire Lake". This was on all the FM and AM radio stations (that's terrestrial radio for you young'uns). Relive the glory days with these rockin' tunes or discover them for the first time. Look for the YouTube video where as recent as 2/27/13, Bob Seger covered the Wilco/Billy Bragg (Woodie Guthrie-penned) "California Stars".Now, in "Her Strut" is it, "We respect her, but. . ." or is it "We respect her butt. . ." ??? Oh Bob Seger, you wily rascal, you.

Tap Root Manuscript - Neil Diamond

Tap Root Manuscript - Neil Diamond
Label: Universal City Records
Admittedly, we have our share of Neil Diamond records in our dollar bins. Come and buy a few! This record, however, belongs nowhere near the dollar bins. In 1970 Neil Diamond incorporated World Musicians at least ten years before the likes of Peter Gabriel and Paul Simon began using them on their records. Includes the classic "Cracklin' Rose" (Give the acoustic guitar on this another listen, it's pretty magical), a cover of "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", and side two ends with the African Suite. If you are looking for the hits, look for a Diamond "Best Of" compilation, but if you are looking for a complete album, we suggest "Tap Root Manuscript".This is an original release, we ship with a 2mil poly sleeve, the record plays fantastic, it has the original booklet, and the sleeve has just some minor natural wear. Do this.
