Rock

These Are My Songs - Petula Clark

Label: Pye International

Awesome collection of songs by the great Petula Clark. Includes This Is My Song, Groovin, Don't Sleep In the Subway, Love Is Here, and others. Cool liner notes on the back by Stan Cornyn. A preowned copy we have in stock, a little natural wear on the sleeve and the record plays with minimal crackle. All used record listings on our site are reputable or we wouldn't list them at all. Thanks for looking!

Long Misty Days - Robin Trower

Label: Chysalis Records

Looking for some good 70's guitar rock? Call off the search party right now! Robin Trower brings the goods with "Long Misty Days" which features his choice guitar work as well as the bass and vocals of James Dewar and Bill Lordan on drums. Includes Caledonia, Pride, Sailing, and others.

Afterburner - ZZ Top

Label: Warner Brothers

The follow-up to the massively successful "Eliminator" record. It has that very-80s sheen, was popular on MTV, and has a few songs that were MTV hits as well as radio hits. Includes Sleeping Bag, Woke Up With Wood, Rough Boy, Velcro Fly, and others. Yeah, the guy named Frank Beard is the only one without a beard.

August - Eric Clapton

Label: Warner Brothers

The 1986 release from Eric Clapton, which features the song It's In the Way That You Use It, which was in the film "The Color of Money". The LP features Phil Collins on drums, Tina Turner vocals on a couple tracks, as well as the Brecker Brothers, Randy & Michael, on horns. Also features Holy Mother, which is dedicated to Richard Manuel.

Long Distance Voyager - Moody Blues

Label: Polygram Records

Even though they weren't gone that long from the pop music landscape, this 1981 release from Moody Blues was somewhat viewed as a "Comeback Record". Includes the Justin Heyward-penned hit The Voice. A preplayed copy, we usually have a few in stock. If you buy online, we'll send you the best one we have!

Livin' Things - Grass Roots

Label: Dunhill Records

Other than this record being in pretty good shape for a used record in our inventory, the only thing you really need to know about this is that Creed from The Office is in the Grass Roots! Yes, that's him in the upper left of the album cover.

Best of - Guess Who

Label: RCA Records

As far as Best of's and Greatest Hits compilations go, this one by the Guess Who is pretty good. Sometimes all you need is an album of the hits and be done with it. Includes These Eyes, Laughing, No Time, Undun, American Woman, Share the Land, and others. Pick it up in the shop or use our Buy Now buttons and get it mailed right to your door. A preplayed copy, we usually have a couple of them in stock, we'll send you the best one we have.

Spare Parts - Status Quo

Label: Pye Records

Upon some research this record is kind of on the rare side. An apples to apples comparison of Pye Records NSPL-18301 on Discogs found starting prices for this at $103. Median prices were a little lower ($67.00), but since this does have a little natural wear, we've marked it at $48.98. It sounds great with minimal surface noise. Great pop/psychedelic music from the Status Quo in the late 60's. You may know them from "Pictures of Matchstick Men", which is not on this LP.

Odds & Sods - The Who

Label: MCA Records

Comprised mostly of outtakes and previously unreleased material you soon realize after one or two listens that Pete Townshend's outtakes and toss away songs are better than most people's best work. Released in 1974 this record includes I'm the Face, Glow Girl, Naked Eye, Pure & Easy, Long Live Rock, and Postcard, which is a John Entwistle track. This is the original cover art with the actual torn cover - by design. The cat didn't get to it! The one item missing is the original inner sleeve that would have highlighted the tears of the cover but we have our copy pictured here and you can see the rips (below the "K" in Roger's American Football helmet, below Keith's facemask, are two examples).

Bridge of Sighs - Robin Trower

Label: Chrysalis Records

Awesome 1974 release from guitar great Robin Trower. Includes the title track, as well as, Days of the Eagle, In This Place, and others. It was Trower's second studio release after leaving the band Procol Harum. It was engineered by legendary Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick. Opeth has covered the title track, as has Metallica. We have a used copy available, it has just moderate natural wear and sounds great. Thanks!

Allanah Myles - Allanah Myles

Label: Atlantic Records

Released in 1989 this record became kind of a big hit in 1990 on the strength of the bluesy little number Black Velvet. If you bought this then, you probably bought it on cassette or CD. The song won both a Juno Award and a Grammy Award. Now that we're in this vinyl renaissance, maybe you need this record on a sweet slab o' wax, no? Get it today!

Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.

Face Dances - The Who

Label: Warner Brothers

A little underrated Who record, for our money. While it may not rank as one of their Top 5, it has its moments. Maybe it doesn't get enough credit because it's the first one without Keith Moon. In any event, this does include Don't Let Go the Coat, You Better You Bet, Another Tricky Day, Cache Cache, and others. A used copy, we usually have a few. We'll send the best one we have!!

Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.

Centerfield - John Fogerty

Label: Warner Brothers

Huge comeback album for the former Creedence frontman John Fogerty. Released in 1985, this was his first record in about 12 years. Includes Centerfield, Old Man Down the Road, I Saw It on TV, and others. While it has a little 80's sheen in the production, it is decidedly Creedence sounding. There's Fogerty's voice, of course, but it has that "swampy" CCR sound we know so well. A preowned copy, we usually have a few in stock. We'll send you the best one and put it in a 2 mil sleeve too.

Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.

VI - Chicago

Label: Columbia Records

Another big hit for the band, Chicago. Recorded in Colorado, this set included the hits Just You N Me, Feelin Stronger Every Day, Jenny, and others. Robert Lamm wrote half of the songs for this 1973 release on Columbia Records. A preowned copy, we usually have a couple in stock, we'll send you the best one we have and include a 2 mil plastic sleeve.

Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.

Hold Out - Jackson Browne

Label: Asylum Records

Even with all his success, this is the only Jackson Browne record to hit Number One on the charts. This may explain why we have dozens of copies of this! Released in 1980, this includes Hold Out, Disco Apocalypse, That Girl Could Sing, and others. If you buy one we'll send you the best copy we have!

Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.

In the Heart of the Heart Country - Fire Town

Label: Atlantic Records

Fire Town, a cool little indie, alt-rock, alt-country band out of Madison Wisconsin in the 1980's. Members included Doug Erikson, Phil Davis, Tom LaVarda, and Butch Vig on drums. Yes, that Butch Vig, of Nirvana's "Nevermind" producer fame. Erikson and Vig (with Shirley Manson) went on to help form the band Garbage too. A great sounding record, this is a preowned LP we have in our collection. People pass it by in the "F" section in our shop, you've found it on the site. You better grab it. For real, tho.

Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.

I Hear A Symphony - Supremes

Label: Motown Records

Original release of a classic Supremes release on Detroit's Motown Records. Originally released in 1966 this record eventually went on to sell nearly 2 million copies! Includes the title track, which was a huge hit, as well as, With A Song In My Heart, Unchained Melody, Yesterday, and others. A pre-owned copy in stock, it has some natural wear and maybe a little crackle, but it's not like someone used it as a frisbee.

Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.

At the Copa - Supremes

Label: Motown Records

A 1965 live recording at the Copacabana in New York City. It was their debut appearance at the venue. Includes Baby Love, Stop! In the Name of Love, Come See About Me, a Sam Cooke Medley, and other great tunes. It's the only live recording with their core line-up of Diana Ross, Florence Ballard, and Mary Wilson. A preplayed record we have, this one is in pretty good shape with just modest natural wear on the sleeve and the record. Pictured is the record we have available.

First Take - Roberta Flack

Label: Atlantic Records

An all-time classic from Roberta Flack. Released in 1969 this includes the hit single, First Time I Ever Saw Your Face, and the album went to Number 1 on both the US rock and R&B charts. Also includes Angelitos Negros, Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye, Compared to What, and others. A preplayed record in our inventory, it has a little natural wear and just enough crackle to give it that charming, cool, vinyl sound.

Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.

Who Are You - The Who

Who Are You - RED VINYL - The Who
Label: MCA Records

"Who Are You", the 1978 album from Brit legends, The Who. It was also the last record with Keith Moon on it. You probably have heard this, but he's sitting on a chair that says "Not To Be Taken Away". Wut!?! Features Sister Disco, Had Enough, New Song, Who Are You, and some other songs. Didn't know this... this was only their 8th studio album. Not making an indictment, by any means, but by 1978 it seemed they had more records by then.

Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway - Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway

Label: Atlantic Records

Outstanding release by the great Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway. An R&B classic. A wonderful combination of voices where you may think, they are not of this world. Includes I (Who Have Nothing), You've Got A Friend, Where Is the Love, Baby I Love You, and others. A preplayed record we have, the cover has a little wear, but the record sounds amazing. Pictured is the copy we have.

Mamy Blue - Pop Tops

Pop band formed in the late 1960's in Madrid, Spain by Phil Trim, who was from Trinidad. They had that baroque pop sound and were often compared to the Left Banke or even Procol Harum. This record includes what may be their best known hit, Mamy Blue. This is the pressing from Spain. Pictured is the copy we have available. Looks great, plays great.

Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.

Mud Slide Slim - James Taylor

Label: Warner Brothers

James Taylor and his 1971 release "Mud Slide Slim", which included one of his biggest hits, which was written by Carole King, You've Got A Friend". The song went to Number One and oddly enough, Taylor's album only made it to Number 2 on the charts, stopped by Carole King's "Tapestry", which kept the No. 1 spot and contained her version of You've Got A Friend. This record was produced by Peter Asher of pop duo "Peter and Gordon" and Peter was more famously known as Jane Asher's brother, who was Paul McCartney's longtime girlfriend in the 1960's.

Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.

Sweet Dreams - Eurythmics

Label: RCA Records

Big hit in 1983 and put the Eurythmics on the map, especially with the single Sweet Dreams Are Made of This. One of the more successful duos in pop history, it's Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart as kind of this Man-Behind-the-Curtain with the production duties. No, you cannot see the wizard!

Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.

Keep Your Hands Off of My Power Supply - Slade

Label: CBS

Influential hard rock band Slade and their release Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply! If there's no Slade, there's no Quiet Riot, and so on... A 1984 release by the English legends, this record includes Run Runaway, High & Dry, My Oh My, and of course, others! The copy we have in stock plays great but there is some natural edge, shelf, and ring wear. Nothing egregious, just enough to make it look cool!
Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.

One Vice At A Time - Krokus

According the wiki, for you gamers out there, the song Long Stick Goes Boom is featured on Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. Also includes a cover of the Guess Who's American Woman. Pictured is a stock photo from the intertoobs, the copy we have just has modest natural wear and plays just fine.
Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.

Tim Buckley's 1972 release on the Warner Bros label which includes Devil Eyes, Move With Me, Get On Top, Make It Right, and others. Recorded at FarOut Studios in Los Angeles. Best Years - Rory Gallagher

Label: Polydor Records

Pretty sure Rory Gallagher is the guitar player named by Jimi Hendrix when quoted on who is the greatest guitar player in the world and Jimi replies, "I don't know, you'll have to ask Rory Gallagher." The quote has been butchered to where he may have mentioned Chicago's Terry Kath (a worthy choice) or attributed to Prince via Eric Clapton, but origins of the original quote appear to point Hendrix to Gallagher. In any event, get this nice preplayed copy of Rory Gallagher, a guitar slinger's guitar slinger. Jacket has some natural wear, the record looks great and it's on Polydor Records 2383-414.

Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.

Lord of the Ages - Magna Carta

Label: London Records

We finally have access to the Magna Carta, the folk rock band at least. Magna Carta is Chris Simpson, Glen Stewart, and Stan Gordon. Originally released in 1967, this LP has got to be close to that era. It has some natural wear, but plays with just a minimal amount of crackle and surface noise.
Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge (usually $4.98 for single LPs) will be added. We ship next day.

Pictures at Eleven - Robert Plant

Label: Swansong

Looking back on this, it's a very good solo release from Robert Plant. It's his first work after Led Zeppelin broke up. At the time of release, obvious comparisons to his Zep work were made and with a bar that high, there's no way to compare. However, playing this record recently, it holds up very well. To these ears it's almost a continuation of "In Through the Out Door" but with different musicians. Robbie Blunt, while no Page, is no slouch on the guitar either. Also includes Paul Martinez on bass and Cozy Powell and Phil Collins on drums! Released on the SwanSong label, so it will have that familiar Zep look spinning on your turntable.
Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge (usually $4.98 for single LPs) will be added. We ship next day.
Pick-Up Option: If you'd like to pick up this record (and possibly others) at the shop, we can arrange a "non-shipping" payment, plus sales tax. Send an email or DM via the socials and we can set-up payment and appointment.

BeBe LeStrange - Heart

Label: Epic Records

Great 1980 release by the Seattle band, Heart. Includes Even It Up, Pilot, Bebe LeStrange, and others. Ann and Nancy Wilson rocked so hard and kicked so much ass that they must have missed the memo that rock was a man's world. They weren't havin' any of that crap. Good on them! Rock on ladies! Local Elgin Fun Fact: Around 2016 Heart played Fesitval Park right here in Elgin.
Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge (usually $4.98 for single LPs) will be added. We ship next day.

Crimes of Passion - Pat Benatar

Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge (usually $4.98 for single LPs) will be added. We ship next day.

Flash - Jeff Beck

Label: Epic Records

Hard to believe by 1985 Jeff Beck had only released 4 solo studio albums, but if Wiki says it, it must be true. "Flash" was a release that brought in a Grammy in 1986 "Best Instrumental Rock Release" for the song Escape. It also was the record where Rod Stewart took a break from being "Horrible 1980's Rod" and became "Cool Rod" for the Curtis Mayfield song People Get Ready
Send an email or DM via the socials and we can make an appointment.

It Ain't Easy - Long John Baldry

It Ain't Easy - Long John Baldry
Label: Warner Brothers

Original release from the great pianist Long John Baldry. Don't try to lay no boogie woogie on him either! A bluesy feel but at the same time, this was produced by Rod Stewart and Elton John! Includes Flying (Faces cover), Black Girl (Leadbelly cover), and of course, Don't You Lay No Boogie Woogie on the King of Rock N Roll. Also includes covers of Willie Dixon and Randy Newman tunes. Released in 1971. A preplayed record, it has just modest surface noise and looks great. This is a stock photo of the record.

Never A Dull Moment - Rod Stewart

Outstanding, if not underrated release from Rod Stewart. This was his second release after leaving The Faces and this record really has that Faces sound. At different points in the record, all of the Faces play on this, so yeah, Ronnie Wood and Ronnie Lane. In fact, listen to the unmistakable keyboards by Ian McLagan on True Blue, the lead off track. Also includes You Wear It Well, Mama You've Been On My Mind, I'd Rather Go Blind, Angel (the Hendrix cover).

Hot August Night - Neil Diamond

Label: MCA Records

Iconic two record set from Neil Diamond. Recorded at the Greek Theater, it's Diamond at the top of his live performance game. Includes Cherry Cherry, Red Red Wine, Sweet Caroline, Girl You'll Be A Woman Soon, Solitary Man, and others. It's one of the selections in the book "1000 Recordings to Hear Before You Die". This copy has a little natural wear and plays fine. This album seems to have been well-loved by everyone who owned it, so with that in mind, we rarely come across VG or MINT copies. Nice price for a two LP set. Okay, fine, you saw it in a dollar bin somewhere.... but still.

Byrdmaniax - The Byrds

Label: Columbia Records

The tenth studio album by the Byrds. It was released in 1971 and the line-up by this time includes guitarist Clarence White. Features the single Glory Glory and was produced by Terry Melcher. Also includes Pale Blue, I Wanna Grow Up to be a Politician and the Jackson Brown-penned song, Jamaica Say You Will. This is a stock photo of the record. The one that is available plays great and the jacket has a modest amount of natural wear.

Songwriter - Various Artists

Label: Twin Tone

Two photos, the intro cover from the site is the front cover. The photo after you click on the record is the back photo to give you a look at the artists. These are pics of the record we have available. The tape you see is to keep the 2 mil sleeve sealed. It's not on the record jacket. Minneapolis' Twin Tone Records put this release out in 1980 and includes all sort of artists from that time. It was compiled from over 700 entries in a Songwriters contest. Includes songs by Phil and the Blanks, The Liars, Bob Erkstrand, Bret Gardner, Fingerprints, Twin City Terrors, and others. Twin Tone went on to release records by the likes of Minneapolis bands like Soul Asylum, Husker Du and The Replacements. Those bands, or members of those bands, are not on this comp. Many of the songs were recorded at Blackberry Way studio.

Demons & Wizards - Uriah Heep

Label: Mercury Records

Is this rock? Is it prog rock? Metal? We're not sure, we'll just call it freaking awesome! The fourth record by these Brit rockers and it has gone on to sell over 6 million copies! Includes The Wizard, Circle of Hands, Easy Livin', and others. Cover art by the great Roger Dean. You may know his work from Yes record jackets. As a preplayed selection, this has some minor natural wear but plays fine with but a little surface noise. Remember, this record may date back to 1972, so possibly nearly 50 years old.

Uglysuit - Uglysuit

Label: Quarterstick Records

Cool indie pop record from 2008 by the Uglysuit on Quarterstick Records out of Chicago. Includes Brownblue's Passing, Chicago, Let It Be Known, Elliot Travels, and others. All songs written by the Uglysuit and it was engineered and produced by Manny Sanchez.

The Firm - The Firm

Label: Atlantic Records

Not to be confused with a 90's movie featuring Tom Cruise, this was a 1985 release with Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and Paul Rodgers of Bad Company and Free! A legendary guitarist and a legendary vocalist combine forces! The big hit single was Radioactive. They toured hockey venues and released one more record after that, but that was it. With all that history behind them, they were both somewhat lackluster releases. But hey, the price is right, pick this up somewhere (even if it's not at Rediscover) and see for yourself.

The Cowsills - The Cowsills

The Cowsills - The Cowsills
Label: MGM Records

Quite possibly one of the more underrated bands of the era. They were only the band that inspired the television show "The Partridge Family". This is the original MGM release which includes "The Rain, The Park, and Other Things" and also "Gettin into that Sunny Feelin' Again". The jacket and the record are in VG/VG shape. Find your records and record needs at Rediscover Records.

History Mix Volume 1 - Godley & Creme

Label: Polyvinyl Records

The 1986 release from Godley & Creme, formerly of the band 10cc. Includes the hit single Cry, which had a huge, if not bizarre, hit video that aired on MTV *insert "back when MTV played videos comment" says the Gen-Xer*. Also includes Wet Rubber Soup, Light Me Up, Save A Mountain For Me, and others. A very nice preplayed record from Polydor Records 825981-1 and includes the original inner sleeve. Played superbly upon a test play at the shop. Thanks!!

I'm the Man - Joe Jackson

Label: A and M Records

The 1979 release from the great Joe Jackson, "I'm the Man". He was from the rad era of New Wave and Punk artists of the late 70's and he may not quite get the same recognition as some of his peers. I don't think he really minds though. Included on this is the title track, as well as, On Your Radio, Get That Girl, Friday, Amateur Hour, and the brilliant deep cut, It's Different For Girls. Jackson is one of those guys who can rock hard and then sing the sweetest of ballads. McCartney-esque, if you will. Pictured is the record that we have in stock. It has a small amount of crackle and a very slight warp. It played nicely upon a test spin.

Nightmares - J. Geils Band

Label: Atlantic Records

Excellent looking pre-played copy of J. Geils Band "Nightmares". Includes the hit Must Have Got Lost, as well as cuts like, Gettin Out, Detroit Breakdown, Givin' It All Up, and others. Record and sleeve are in great ship, photo is of the album available, and if you can read the $3.99 original price tag, it isn't much more than that now at $6.98 plus S&H.

Full House - J. Geils Band

Label: Atlantic Records

Arguably one of the greatest live albums of all time and it's only a single disc! Live records in the 1970's were often sprawling two, or even three, disc sets. This one is one record, to the point, and it rocks! Originally released in 1972 this record includes First I Look at the Purse, Looking For A Love, Whammer Jammer, and five other live classics. This is a preowned record but in decent shape with just enough natural wear to give it that cool look. The record sounds great!!
