Hamp in the Hi Fi
Artist: Lionel Hampton
$14. 98
| Buy Now
Condition: Gently Used
Label: Harmony

Another superb original release by Lionel Hampton. This one comes by the way of Harmony Records HL7115. The Master of the Vibes himself, Lionel Hampton is joined on this record by jazz musicians Oscar Dennard, Billy Mackel, Peter Badie, and Albert Gardner. There are several recordings out there of these songs but have you heard them done by Hampton? Here are a few of the selections, "Die Lorelei", "Londonderry Air", "Sarie Marais" and "It's A Long Way to Tipperary". Once again, compare the price of this, an original release, to some of the prices labels are getting for brand new reissues of some of the great jazz records. This is a nice thick record, before this 180gram trend started in recent years. Now, we're not knockin the 180 gram trend, just sayin'...

Heavy Weather
Artist: Weather Report
$8. 98
| Buy Now
Condition: Gently Used
Label: Columbia

A standard record in any collection that has any jazz records from the 70's. This record even made many FM Radio rock playlists back in the day. In fact, you can still hear "Birdland" on certain stations. This edition of Weather Report was, of course, led by Wayne Shorter but by this time the late great Jaco Pastorius had really made an impact on the band. Are you looking to graduate from your rock records to some jazz? This is a great starting point. Originally released in 1977.

$19.98
| Buy Now
Condition: Gently Played
Label: Chess Jazz Masters Series

A snazzy 2 record set by Sonny Stitt and Zoot Sims. This is a reissue series on the Chess Jazz Masters Series. A sprawling collection of great jazz tunes with the likes of "Fools Rush In", "Ko Ko", "Reed and A Half", "920 Special", "The Saber" and "Katea". These recordings date back to the mid-1950's. That's when it was really goin on! Jack Kerouac himself probably gave some of these songs a spin back in the day!

A few notes on the record(s) themselves: There is some natural edge wear but these records play great. Perhaps a little surface noise just to give some already cool jazz a cool sound. As we like to note, we ship sturdy records only boxes and supply a confirmation number.
