Living In the USA
Artist: Linda Ronstadt
$8. 98 | Buy Now
Condition: Gently Used
Label: Asylum Records

In 1978 there were not too many people ridin' as high on the pop charts as Linda Ronstadt. Long gone were the days with the Stone Pony's, now she is a full-fledged star! On this record she comes up with brilliant covers that include Chuck Berry, Warren Zevon, Elvis Presley, and Elvis Costello. How flattered must a young Costello felt to have his less than a year old song, "Alison" being covered by someone like Ronstadt? A nice find for a reasonable price. The record and jacket are in great condition. Why look through garage sales salvages and thrift stores for ill-kept records? Buy 'em here!

Lone Justice
Artist: Lone Justice
$8. 98
| Buy Now
Condition: Gently Used
Label: Geffen

The 1985 release by Lone Justice. One of the more under-rated bands of this era. Maria McKee is one fine vocalist and this band didn't rely on many of the over-produced tricks of this era to make a good record. Includes "East of Eden", "Working Late", "Pass It On", and "Ways to Be Wicked". Heartbreaker Benmont Tench adds piano and organ to this record. The jacket and the record itself are in great condition, well worth the price. An Adios Lounge favorite.

Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams
Artist: BoDeans
$9. 98
| Buy Now
Condition: Gently Used
Label: Slash/Warner Bros.

In 1986 the music world was rife with drum machines, synths, and over production. All this and we didn't even mention the 80's Big Hair! Then came this little band just out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin who eschewed this so-called modern technology and released a great roots rock record, "Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams" (Yes, the title is a nod to the Stones, "Shattered"). Well crafted pop rock songs by Beau and Sammy BoDean (Kurt Neumann & Sammy Llanas) that put the emphasis on the music and not the music video. Sure there were a few other jangly guitar bands of that era but none quite like The BoDeans. This is their debut record and while they may have gained some fame later in their career, this record is their finest hour.

This record, and the jacket, are in great condition. Do you have this on CD? Maybe it's time to get it on vinyl. We ship in sturdy records only boxes. Stop in and pick it up or use our Buy Now links and buy safely from your own PayPal account.

Madman Across the Water
Artist: Elton John
$8. 98
| Buy Now
Condition: Gently Used
Label: MCA Recods

Fantastic Elton John release from 1972 that features no less than 9 great Elton John/Bernie Taupin compositions. Sure it can be argued that John had a precipitous drop in his career after 1980 but it's hard to put up an argument that Elton John was not at the top of his game with this release. Includes "Tiny Dancer", "Levon" (inspired by The Band's Levon Helm), "Madman Across the Water", and "All the Nasties". Yeah, you can find this record around pretty regularly, but this one is in great shape, well-kept, and we'll give it a vacuum clean before shipping.

Magic Bus - On Tour
Artist: The Who
$9. 98

Condition: Gently Used
Label: Decca DL-75064

This is an original pressing of The Who's "Magic Bus The Who On Tour". It has some natural shelf wear and some surface noise. It also has the black Decca label with the rainbow stripe. This is a nice record for the price, despite the natural wear. When we say surface noise, this is just as a result of age and it has been, let's just say, shown a lot of love. Includes "Disguises", "Run Run Run", "Magic Bus", "Call Me Lightning", "Pictures of Lily" and John Entwhistle's "Someone's Coming". We ship in sturdy "records only" boxes and supply a confirmation number. Order from us as opposed to an auction site. If you are in the area, come to Elgin and see us!

Oh wait, that's not all! This includes mega-hit "Careless Whisper". Well, now, then.

Making Movies
Artist: Dire Straits
$6. 98
| Buy Now
Condition: Gently Used
Label: Warner Brothers

Arguably one of the better Dire Straits releases, "Making Movies". Certainly the debut is in the conversation as is "Brothers In Arms" but this is a strong entry with songs like "Tunnel of Love", "Romeo and Juliet", "Expresso Love" and "Solid Rock". Includes the original lyric sheet inner sleeve. All our used LPs are inspected before we list them, so despite a little natural wear, or a little surface noise, all our records play great.

Marshall Crenshaw
Artist: Marshall Crenshaw
$9. 98 | Buy Now
Condition: Gently Used
Label: Warner Brothers

It's not a stretch to say that not only is this one of the greatest *debut* records of all time, but to say it's one of the greatest records of all time. Hyperbole you say? Perhaps a little, but this is a solid record through and through, full of great melodies, harmonies, song craft, jangly guitars, and power pop classics. If you are fan of 3 minute pop songs, then you need this. Do yourself a favor and pick this up. It's so good we won't even care if you buy it elsewhere, just buy it. Includes; "There She Goes Again", "Someday Someway", "Cynical Girl", "Mary Anne", to name a few.

Our secure "Buy Now" buttons take you directly to your paypal account where a modest S&H charge of $4.99 will be built in. McCartney II
Artist: Paul McCartney
$6. 98
| Buy Now
Condition: Gently Used
Label: Capital

Paul McCartney's second self-titled release, aptly titled "II". It was his first post-Wings release in 1980. Some will say this record was somewhat groundbreaking and incorporating sounds that would influence the sounds of the 1980's. It's very heavy on synth and experimentation. Includes the tracks, "Coming Up", "Temporary Secretary", "Nobody Knows" and "Waterfalls". It's a favorite of hardcore McCartney fans. The original LP had a 7" live single of "Coming Up" live from Glasgow. This record, does not include the single, unfortunately. It's in very good shape otherwise and a nice buy for the price.

Meet The Beatles
Artist: The Beatles
$89. 98
| Buy Now
Condition: Gently Used
Label: Capital T-2047 MONO

The Beatles rode into the United States on this record in 1964 to commence the start of Beatlemania and the British Invasion. This is the U.S. release (as opposed to the U.K. release, "With The Beatles") on Capital Records and is the MONO recording. It's original to 1964 with the black label with the rainbow ring around the label. The Jerry Osborne Rockin' Records Guide lists this record at $300-$500 as it does have the producer-publisher credits below the liner notes. The MONO version of this record from this era is much harder to find. The condition of this record is "Very Good+++" to "Near Mint" and that is not record grading hyperbole. It's in great shape. We'll ship it with great care and with a 2 mil. poly sleeve. Though some of these songs may suffer from over exposure and saturation, listen to them again with new ears and you will find them celebratory. "I'll pretend that I'm kissing the lips I am missing".

The Godfathers were popular with college radio ("college radio" was just another term for "alternative music" before it became a marketing tool for music, or as some would say, "Oh, you listen to that 'weird' music) in the late 80's and early 90's. This was the follow-up to "Birth School Work Death" and released in 1989. It may be worth it just for "Walking Talking Johnny Cash Blues". This is the US release and the cover is as shown. On a sidenote, the UK cover has a photo of Liz Taylor and Richard Burton.
