Rediscover Records is a record store in Elgin, Illinois. We are located at 9 S. Spring Street in historic downtown Elgin. Find store hours and COVID updates below.

Black Friday Record Store Day 2022!! UPDATE: There's an updated list of our BFRSD items linked on our homepage. Tap on the Record Store Day image. There's also several RSD items in stock, in-store, listed on the same page.

2022: Hey, wow! We're in a face covering optional indoors phase of the pandemic in Illinois and Kane County. Feel free to wear a face covering or not. The same goes for the staff, while not required to wear a mask, we still may wear a face covering just for the health of others, the staff, and their families. In this new world, we'll still keep gloves & sanitizer for your convenience. The current staff is fully vaccinated. Be safe, kind, and continued health to all. Thanks. In the words of Thomas Dolby, "SCIENCE!!"

A few words on the records on our site. We do not have every record in our shop on the site. Our New Vinyl section is the most comprehensive of our inventory. Our home page proudly features New Releases/Reissues in stock. Tap/click on a record for a brief capsule and buying options. The pre-loved used LP tabs are but a representation of the records we may have.

We also buy your gently used records. We can look at/buy/take in records at these times:
Wednesday: 12pm to 5pm
Thursday: 12 to 4pm
Friday: 12pm to 7pm
Saturday: 12pm to 7pm
We pay cash (sometimes check), digital payments like Zelle/Venmo, or offer an in-store credit. We can't promise you wealth, but we can take a look at them. A kind donation in support of a small independent business is always appreciated too. Please contact us to make arrangements. Currently we are NOT looking for classical, opera, certain Big Band, Radio Programs, Andy Williams, your Grandma's Reader's Digest box sets, Mitch Miller and the Gang, 101 Strings, Kingston Trio, and things of that ilk. We are not looking for 78rpm records. 45rpm would fall under the "Kind donation to the shop" category, unless it was an insane collection of punk singles, or something like that.

We are participating in Record Store Day - Record Store Day, a worldwide event, is normally the third Saturday in April. We will open promptly at 8am. There is a line waiting to get it, which forms in the early hours of the morning. It's your call when to get in line, but it is "first come, first serve". There's no "holdsies" or preorders for RSD. We will post the list of RSD items we were able to curate by midnight on April 21st. There is also a Black Friday Record Store Day which we also participate in.
