A super clean, near mint, add it to your Baez and/or folk records, copy of Joan Baez's self-titled release on Vangaurd. NM to Mint on the record itself and the jacket. Original red label. Very extensive liner notes by Maynard Solomon. Among the songs on this set include "Silver Dagger", "East Virginia", "John Riley", "Little Moses" and "House of the Rising Son". Really a fine collection of folk songs on a nearly flawless record. For Elgin ties, Joan Baez has frequently performed at the Hemmens Cultural Center.
I'm Gonna Be A Country Girl Again - Buffy Sainte-Marie
An original release on the Vanguard label, known for its great folk music releases. This record is in great shape, it came from a meticulously kept collection and has been stored in a plastic record sleeve for years, if not decades. Includes the title track, "Tall Trees of Georgia", "The Piney Hills", "Sometimes When I Get to Thinkin'", and a song that Neko Case covered and released on her record "The Tigers Have Spoken" ... "A Soulful Shade of Blue". Hear the original on this record. A great 60's era folk singer, what a talent.
Country Born - Long Gone Miles
A very rare recording by Folk-Blues artist Long Gone Miles. A record that has someone named LeRoy Vinegar on it is alright by us. Included in this set are songs written by Miles himself as well as recordings by Guitar Slim, Junior Parker, and Muddy Waters. Some of the tracks are "I Feel All Right", "Long Gone", "Bad Luck", "Barefoot Rock", and the Waters-penned "Long Distance Call". Great liner notes on the back jacket by Leslie Carter. A few notes on the record and jacket. This is in near mint condition. A true find for those looking for records like this. Price this on auction sites and you will see completed sales and lists on this for much more money. Don't be alarmed by some of these collectible prices on certain records on our site. These are just highlighted records we have. We have over 1000 records at $5.00 or less, including a respectable $1 bin section in our store.

Robert Pete Williams - Robert Pete Williams
A somewhat obscure record from folk blues artist Robert Pete Williams on the Storyville label. Also helping him out on this record is Big Joe Williams. Included in this LP is "Doctor Blues", "Texas Blues" "Got On His Mind", and "Goodbye Baby". A great little blues record that is a little off the beaten path of the blues artists named after a piece of fruit or some physical handicap. As you listen to this record, look forward to reading the extensive liner notes on the back of the LP jacket by Derrick Stewart-Baxter. Original release, very nice, scarce, and the price reflects all these factors.

We Shall Overcome - Pete Seeger
This record is really a benchmark within the folk industry as it was so influential to so many other, including a young Bob Dylan. Included in this live set recorded at New York's Carnegie Hall is "Who Killed Davey Moore", "Who Killed Norman Jean" "A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall", and "Keep Your Eyes On the Prize". Folk music is where a lot of rock music owes its roots. Well, that and the blues too.A quick word on the record: This record has been shown some love as it does have some edge wear on the jacket and some surface noise on the record itself as it plays. It is however an original MONO release on Columbia Records. So, there's that...
